Virus a name which is related to diseases, now the scientists using it to treat cancer, This technology experiments are done successfully, recently, dr yuman fong, surgical oncologist, city of hope , cured last stage cancer patients, infact doctors believed that this type of virus can treat breast , ovarian and lung cancer like 8 types of cancer

In 1950 , when the trials of curing cancer patients were happening, through viruses, then many patients death happened

Actually, this process was started, in 1904 , where a blood cancer Leukaemia , patient was infected by influenza virus, while her treatment, dr George dock , see a strange thing , because of virus, her cancer was recovering, because of cancer, her liver which has flourished, was returning into its normal size , and the organs were going virus free, then how the virus mechanism was killing it , to study it many experiments were done , but due to lack of technology, they couldn’t find anything, then in end they published a paper on this ,so that if in future, any studies happened on this , it will be useful, in 1956 , first trials were started, they used influenza virus (adenovirus) in 30 patients, and observed cancer patients, they found that out of 30 , 26 patients were recovering, after the successful trial , they started the second trial (Hepatitis B) they done it on 22 patients, but out of 22 , 14 patients, started showing yellow skin , fever , and abdominal pain , and patient finally died

And the rest patients viral fever when cured , their tumour size started getting big , and in some time intervals some patients died , after this , this trials and experiments were banned, then in 1990 , when in medical field, genetic engineering was introduced, it was used to make hepatitis B vaccine, after seeing this success, in 1996 , dr frank mccormik (cancer biologist) thought, that they can modify virus genes , they can invent technology to treat cancer from viruses can be revived, so like 1956 , they took adenovirus but this time they with the help of genetic engineering, they made changes in genes and made a new virus, called (Onax 015) , and it was a game changer , after this modification, they started lab tests

They took normal cells , and through radiation, they converted it into tumour cells , than they injected virus cells in this. , and observe it for few days, after few days , they found onax015 , ignoring normal cells , was targeting the cancer cells, but their was a problem, onax015 was not to quickly replicate itself, than they started to modify the virus, which is present in us from childhood , then they founded, a disease called small pox , which has vaxinia virus, because we are already vaccinated with small pox , if we injected this virus, in the body , chances of infection are very less , so leading this project, dr Yuman Fong , took vaxinia, and started doing genetic modifications in vaxinia, they founded that this virus can accommodate , many genes , that’s why it was easy to made it cancer specific,then when scientists found that vaxinia is giving them , satisfactory results, they started lab tests , first trials were done on animals like mouse , ginni pigs and monkeys, after the satisfactory results, FDA gives permission, to do human trials, and in 2022 us city of hope hospital, along with imunge, started its phase 1 trials, in starting they choose 100 patients with advanced cancer, they were given virus therapy with pembrolizumab for safety, they found out that lungs , ovarian, like 8 cancer were decreasing, and after this successful trials, they are thinking to start , phase 2 and phase 3 on 10000 to 50000 patients
