In the past , our earth was hit by a planet theia, then the formation of moon was done , moon was very close to earth then , that’s why the rotational speed of earth was very fast , and earth day was only 6 hours , and in billon years , moon went far away from earth , and moon is away from earth and distance is 384000 , our moon diameter is around 3000 kilometres
If we see at moon surface, it is full of craters , according to scientists, when solar system was formed, then several asteroids hitted , earth and moon , the moon craters were formed that time
As the time passed , earth craters , were reduced, because earth tectonic plates , movement is going on always , and on the moon no tectonic movements are there , so moon craters remains the same
