Hello friends, our universe is unimaginably big , but perhaps it is the most disappointing aspect as well,
Imagine if we find out a planet like earth in another galaxy, which is habitable for humans, it will take centuries to reach there , for any human to leave the galaxy is next to impossible now
Our nearest galaxy is andromeda, if we want to reach that galaxy, at the today speed , 94 million years to reach , if we achieved light speed by technology in future, still it will take 2.5 million years to reach there
This is truly disappointing, what’s the use of discovering planets, when we can’t reach them
But if there is a shortcut in the space to reach that galaxy, the way by which we can travel this million years travel in only few months
These shortcuts are friends wormholes
In 2014 , film interstellar, in this film it is shown that when kooper and his team leaves the earth , in search of habitable planets , they travel to another galaxy, to reach there they travel through a wormhole
Wormholes are not science fiction, it is based on real science, what are wormholes exactly, and how can we use them, we have to come back to the Einstein story of relativity
When Albert Einstein wrote his theory of relativity, he wrote in the set of equations , it is called Einstein field equations , this is a set of 10 equations , but in short they can be represented as a single equation
This is a very complex equation, mainly these equations tell us matter and energy, influence the curvature of space time , Einstein told that if you put objects on a mesh , it bend down due to the weight of objects
Space time mash also bend down in the same way , with the weight of big stars and planets , The more the gravitational force of a planet, the more curve in space time happens
This equation were further researched by a scientist, which found out the principles of singularity , that what happens, if this mass becomes infinitely dense , that the curvature of space time will be so tightly wrapped, that this region will totally pinch off from the universe,
By this , only scientists proved the concept of black hole , in 2019 first time scientists took pictures of black hole , and all this equations has one more solution, that is wormholes
In our three dimensional world, we think that the way to andromeda galaxy is 2.5 light years long , but if our 3 dimensional is curved into 4 th dimension, then we can find a shorter way to reach there ,
Now it is very difficult for us to imagine 4th dimension, because we all live in 3 dimension , we can more understand it if we compare 2 dimension and 3 dimension, if you want to go delhi from new York by flight, what will be the shortest path , you will say delhi to new York connecting straight line
But actually this will be not the shortest route , because you are thinking in 2 dimension, if we see earth in 3d , we can go from Finland , Iceland and green land route which is shortest
We see wormholes in 3d or 2d but when we look it in fourth dimension it looks like a spherical ball , in which when you go inside, the things you see around is curved, and if you look back from wormhole, earth is moving away from you fast
Everything will look in circular shape ,
So the concept of wormholes, when we can use them in the near future will open a new posiblity to new worlds which we can reach in our life time , this will like a time travel
