Voyager ( facts)

20 august 1977 , when nasa to observe more deeply the universe, voyager 2 named spacecraft was launched from earth

After this launch , after 16 days, voyager 1 was also launched why was voyager 1 being no 1 was launched after voyager 2 , do you know this

And when both voyager are active till today, why are we not launching voyager 3 now , today our technology is so advanced that we can send easily any spacecraft

In 1970 , some scientists of nasa decided that we will use our funds to design two spacecraft’s by which in actual state they can go beyond Jupiter , and we can get photographs of the planets of our solar system and surface imaging

Due to this voyager space program was created, in the starting it was thought that this spacecraft will work for 5 years and send the details of solar system , but guess what , today after 45 years they are still working and is predicted that they can work till 2025

In the voyagers , besides technology, main role was of astronomical calculations, it was known that in 1978 , all the planets of our solar system will align like this , that with their gravity, that by using each planet gravity, by slingshot, we can go to another planet orbit

And by this catch , that in launch of both voyager was changed, because voyager 2 launch purpose was that , it will go in interstellar space and it will explore crore kilometres away things , where’s as voyager 1 was designed to cover less distance

By this calculation was made if a spacecraft will launch between 18 th to 21 august 1977 , then according to its trajectory, planets gravity can give it a bigger push , it was found that in this date if a space craft is launched, it can travel long distances

Then 20 th august, voyager 2 was launched, , and the things go well and the mission which has to end in 1982 is still going on

So the point is that after 1977 , after voyager great success, and now so much technology advancements, why don’t we send a voyager 3

First of all is astronomical conditions , the planets alignment which was seen in 1978 , is again repeated after only 176 years , it means we have to wait till 2154

Second problem is technology limitations, voyager 1 is now around 23.8 billion kilometres away , and voyager 2 is around 19.8 billion kilometres away , they are moving around 60000 km/hr and still we can’t made a spacecraft which can match their speed, because they were launched in special astronomical conditions

If we launch now also and conditions favoured , but still to acheive the speed it will take 50-60 years to achieve their speed
