Comet nishimura survived journey to the sun

Comet Nishimura, which was discovered earlier this year has made its closest approach to the Sun, and surprisingly survived the journey.

The comet was captured by renowned photographer Petr Horalek from Mount Lysa in Sabinov, Slovakia. Despite the glaring sunset, Horalek managed to photograph the comet as it emerged intact, using a 5-second exposure at ISO 100.

Comet Nishimura, named after the Japanese astronomer who discovered it, is a once-in-a-lifetime sight, given its estimated orbital period of 435 years.
