Moon or mars which is most suitable for humans Colony

Humans are rapidly increasing in space technology and new new missions are going on in space, and the possibilities are being found, where humans can make their colonies in universe

Now the best suitable place seems to be mars and moon, but in both which will be more suitable, this has to be answered

From mars and moon , distance is a factor , where moon is 384400 kilometres way from earth, and the most nearest to the earth

While mars is 990.8 lakh kilometres away , but it seems to be more suitable for humans to settle

One important aspect is atmosphere, where moon seems very weak, there is no atmosphere

On mars there is thin atmosphere, which can protect to some extent from radiation and asteroids , moon has no protection

Out of earth, oxygen is important, both places oxygen is not there , so we have to take oxygen at both places or manufacture oxygen there

Mars has carbon dioxide, by which we can produce oxygen

On moon there is only 1/6 gravitational force compare to earth, while mars has 3/8 so mars seems better in gravitational aspect

In the long term, Mars wins. The moon is too harsh to be anything but a stepping stone toward life in space. Because of the possibility for life and the very interesting geology that took place a long time ago, Mars provides a much better opportunity for scientific exploration
