What did Chandrayaan 3 found on moon

Chandrayaan-3’s Vikram rover found sulphur on the moon, particularly near the South Pole. The rover also detected other elements, including:

Aluminium, Silicon, Calcium, Iron, Chromium, Titanium, Manganese, Oxygen.

The rover’s most significant discovery was the presence of sulphur, which is volatile and not generally expected.

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) confirmed the findings on August 28. The Pragyan rover used the Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) instrument to make the discovery.

The Chandrayaan-3 lunar lander was put into sleep mode on September 4. The spacecraft isn’t designed to continue collecting scientific data while its landing spot is in the Earth’s shadow, or lunar night.

Discovery of water

Another payload called mini-SAR helped detect the subsurface deposits of water-ice in the permanently shadowed regions within the craters near the south pole

The rover also detected some seismic activity using an instrument designed to measure rumbles and quakes beneath the lunar surface, and the rover used a spectroscope to confirm the presence of sulfur near the moon’s south pole. Now scientists will aim to investigate how the element got there and whether it exists naturally on the surface or was put there by a meteor strike or volcanic activity, according to the ISRO.
