The China National Space Agency (CNSA) has drawn attention to its space programs in recent years. The CNSA has launched several lunar missions, including: 

• Chang’e 3 Launched on December 1, 2013, this mission included a lander and rover that soft-landed on the moon on December 14, 2013. 
• Chang’e 4 Launched on December 7, 2018, this mission included a lander and rover that landed on the far side of the moon on January 3, 2019. 
• Chang’e 5 This mission’s objective was to collect surface samples from the Mons Rumker region of Oceanus Procellarum on the moon. 
• Chang’e 1 This mission was China’s first spacecraft to travel beyond Earth orbit. Its mission included stereoscopic imaging of the lunar surface, assaying the chemistry of the surface, and testing technologies that could be used in expanding the Chinese national space program to the Moon. 

China is gearing up to launch its sixth lunar mission, Chang’e 6.

The Chinese Lunar Exploration Program (CLEP) is a series of robotic moon missions by the China National Space Administration (CNSA). The CLEP is also known as the Chang’e Project, named after the Chinese moon goddess Chang’e. 

The Chang’e missions are named after the Chinese moon goddess Chang’e. The Chang’e 5 mission was China’s first lunar sample-return mission. The Chang’e 5 spacecraft returned moon samples to Earth in 2020. The samples are 2 billion years old. The Chang’e 5 spacecraft is now on an extended mission to test technologies in an advanced lunar orbit

China’s next lunar mission, Chang’e-6, is scheduled for 2024. The mission will carry a payload from Pakistan. 

China’s next missions are expected to be: 

• Chang’e-7 In 2026, this mission will search for lunar resources on the moon’s south pole. 
• Chang’e-8 Two years after Chang’e-7, this mission will look at how to utilize lunar materials. 

These missions will lay the foundations for the construction of the International Lunar Research Station (ILRS) in the 2030s. China also plans to send a crewed mission to the moon by 2030

China plans to land astronauts on the moon by 2030. The plan involves two launches, one for the lunar lander and one for the crew. China’s goal is to become only the second nation to put citizens on the moon. 

China’s plan is different from traditional lunar missions by the US and Russia. China plans to send two rockets to the moon, one carrying the spacecraft that will land on the surface and the other transporting the astronauts. 

China may also build an outpost near the lunar south pole with international cooperation
