Rocket Lab launches 4 private satellites

On January 31, 2024, Rocket Lab launched four Space Situational Awareness (SSA) satellites into a 530 km circular Earth orbit. The satellites were built and operated by Spire and will monitor near-Earth objects. The Electron rocket launched from Rocket Lab’s New Zealand launch site at 1:34 a.m. EST. 

The satellites are for Montreal company NorthStar Earth & Space. They will provide information for space object detection, tracking, and orbit determination.
