Rabbi Shergill is an Indian musician, guitarist, producer, and actor. His music has been described as rock, Punjabi, Sufi, and semi-Sufi with Western arrangements. He released his self-titled debut album in 2005, and his song “Bullah Ki Jaana” became the most played non-film song in India that year. Shergill has released 12 albums, including Avengi Ja Nahin (2008) and Jab Tak Hai Jaan. He has also been credited in eight movies, including Delhii Heights, Dharti, and Romeo Akbar Walter

Shergill was born on April 16, 1973. His father was a Sikh preacher, and his mother is a college principal and Punjabi poet. He has four sisters, including the well-known Hindi poet Gagan Gill. Shergill attended SGTB Khalsa College, Guru Harkrishan Public School, India Gate, and the University of Delhi. He first started his career composing jingles for ad agencies, and released his debut album in 2005 through Phat Phish Records. 

Shergill has said that his music has fresh and heartfelt invocation of Sufiyana, which may have clicked with the masses. He has also said that he has been treated more like a political activist, and has become a filmmaker, marketer, and social media influencer
