NTPC Green Energy IPO: One after the other, many big companies are entering the stock market by presenting their IPOs and now the name of the Green Energy Unit of the government company NTPC is also going to be included in this list.
The year has seen a boom in the IPO market and the issues of many big companies have made investors earn by debuting in the market. But this trend is still going on and there are IPOs of many companies in the queue. Now another big company has submitted documents with the market regulator and after the approval of SEBI, it will hit the market. We are talking about NTPC Green Energy, a subsidiary of NTPC, whose IPO size can be Rs 10,000 crore. The shares of its parent company NTPC Limited have tripled its investors’ money in the last five years.
Only new shares will be issued under IPO
NTPC Green Energy, a subsidiary of the government company NTPC Limited, is ready to launch its IPO to raise Rs 10,000 crore from the market and for this, the Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) has been submitted to SEBI by the company. If we look at the information given in it, the NTPC unit will issue only new shares and the existing shareholders will not sell their shares.
Investors may get excellent response
India’s focus is on the green energy sector and the government wants to increase its renewable capacity from 200 GW to 500 GW by 2030. The pace of growth of companies working in this sector is also fast. If we look at the history till now, the issues of companies related to Green Energy Sector have received tremendous response from investors. In such a situation, the IPO of NTPC Green Energy is also expected to have a successful entry. However, the company has geared up to enter the market and is just waiting for SEBI’s approval.
Where will the company use the money
In the documents submitted by NTPC Green Energy to SEBI, the target of raising Rs 10,000 crore from the market has been stated. Along with this, it has also been told where this money will be used. NTPC has said that a major part of the amount raised from the IPO will be used to repay about half of the Rs 7,500 crore debt of Rs 15,277 crore on the company. Kranti Bathini, Equity Strategy Director at Wealthmills Securities, expects that this IPO may see a lot of interest from investors. Especially because the country is mainly focusing on green energy for the future.
NTPC Green is a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC. In terms of operational capacity and energy production, it is currently the largest Green Energy company in the PSU sector. 75 percent of this issue will be for QIB, 15 percent for NII and 10 percent for retail investors. Talking about its bankers, IDBI Capital Markets, HDFC Bank, IIFL Securities and Nuvama Wealth Management are included in the list
