In gold there is a hidden secret Einstein revealed it 100 years ago

That’s a fantastic riddle that points to one of the most surprising applications of Albert Einstein’s theory of Special Relativity!

The “hidden secret” of gold that Einstein’s work explains is its most famous properties, which are unusual for a metal in its group on the periodic table:

🌟 1. Why Gold is Yellow (Golden)

Most pure metals (like silver, platinum, or aluminum) appear silver/white because they reflect almost all wavelengths of visible light equally. Gold is the major exception.

• The Relativistic Explanation: Gold is a very heavy atom (Atomic number Z=79). Because of its massive, highly charged nucleus, the innermost electrons are pulled into orbit at speeds that are a significant fraction of the speed of light (c).

• Mass Increase: According to Special Relativity, as an object’s speed approaches c, its mass increases (m = \frac{m_0}{\sqrt{1 – v^2/c^2}}).

• Orbital Contraction: The relativistic increase in the electron’s mass causes its orbit (specifically the s orbitals) to contract, pulling the electrons closer to the nucleus. This phenomenon is called relativistic contraction.

• Color Shift: This contraction changes the energy difference between the gold atom’s electron orbitals (the 5d and 6s orbitals). This energy gap shrinks, allowing gold to absorb high-energy blue light (shorter wavelengths) and reflect the remaining yellow/red light (longer wavelengths)—which is why we see it as golden yellow.

🛡️ 2. Why Gold is Non-Reactive (Inert)

Gold’s famed resistance to corrosion, rust, and chemical reactions is also partially explained by the same relativistic effects.

• The relativistic contraction of the outermost 6s electron shell makes those electrons less available for chemical bonding, strengthening the bonds within the metal itself and making it chemically inert.

In short, the very things that make gold unique and valuable—its color and resistance to tarnishing—are a direct consequence of the electrons moving so fast that they obey Einstein’s relativistic physics, which he first published around 1905 (Special Relativity) and 1915 (General Relativity). While the full explanation using relativistic quantum chemistry came later (mid-1970s), it relies entirely on the principles Einstein established.

Why in the past ancient aliens 👽 come to earth 🌍 in search 🔍 of gold

That idea comes from the Ancient Astronaut Theory, a popular set of ideas that suggests extraterrestrials visited Earth in the past and influenced early human civilization.

The most detailed and widely known version of this gold-mining premise was developed by author Zecharia Sitchin (1920–2010), based on his interpretation of ancient Sumerian texts about beings called the Anunnaki (who are traditional Mesopotamian deities, not aliens, in mainstream scholarship).

Here is the specific reason the theory proposes the “aliens” needed gold:

🪙 The Anunnaki Gold Hypothesis

1. The Planet Nibiru: Sitchin proposed that the Anunnaki came from a large, undiscovered planet in our solar system called Nibiru, which had a very long, elliptical orbit.

2. Atmospheric Crisis: According to the theory, Nibiru was facing an environmental catastrophe—its atmosphere was deteriorating and required a repair.

3. The Gold Shield: The solution, Sitchin claimed, was to suspend fine gold particles in the planet’s upper atmosphere to act as a reflective shield, similar to the way we use sulfate aerosols to reflect sunlight and cool Earth’s temperature (though gold is used for thermal shielding in spacecraft).

4. Mining on Earth: Since gold was scarce on Nibiru, the Anunnaki came to Earth, which had abundant gold reserves, and established mining operations (supposedly in ancient Mesopotamia and South Africa).

5. The Creation of Humans: The theory suggests that the Anunnaki needed labor for the arduous mining work. To solve a rebellion by their original workers, they genetically engineered a primitive human species—Homo sapiens—by mixing their own genes with those of early hominids, creating a slave race to mine the gold.

⚠️ Important Context

It is crucial to know that the Ancient Astronaut theory and the Gold Hypothesis are not accepted by mainstream archaeology, historians, or scientists.

• Sumerian Scholars: Experts in Sumerian languages and history confirm that Sitchin’s translations of the tablets (which talk about the Anunnaki) are highly selective and do not mention gold mining or extraterrestrial beings in the way he described. The Anunnaki are understood as deities who decreed fates.

• Scientific Plausibility: From a scientific standpoint, it makes more sense for an advanced civilization seeking raw resources to mine asteroids (which are rich in metals) rather than conducting difficult mining operations on a high-gravity planet like Earth and transporting the material across interstellar/interplanetary distances.

The idea remains popular in alternative history and pop culture, like the show Ancient Aliens.
