In 1994 , Jeff bezos , left his investment banking job , to work on his start up , internet was blowing up that time, so he got a idea , let’s do some internet related business, to make a online store, to sell books , he thinks of the name , the name was cadabra, but it didn’t work, so he started thinking of new names, he finally settled on the name Amazon, by thinking that Amazon is world largest, rainforest in the world, and amazon river is also largest river, so Amazon will be the largest book store in the world, interestingly , if we fast forward it to 25 years , amazon is not only largest bookstore of the world, but also the largest online store to buy anything

Amazon prime video, is one of the largest Ott platforms of the world, Amazon web services, is the no 1 in the world, Amazon music , amazon kindle, amazon drive , and even amazon fresh , are leaders in their respective fields, Amazon idea was new , but unique at that time , at that time people goes on shops and purchase the books, he opened his website of selling books online, it’s benefits was that on single website, thousands of books were available, in 1995 he launched his website, till 1998 its revenue come upto $148 million, at that time Jeff thought, to list his company in stocks market, to expand it , in 1997 amazon became a public sector company, and its revenue reached around $600 million, behind amazon there was 2 reasons,first Amazon was offering huge convenience to his customers, and at that time no other companies were there in amazon competition, doing the same thing, and second is called as (fly wheel effect) amazon business model has become a fly wheel then , they sold books at lowest price, and millions of book were available on it’s online store, and the customers were happy, because of this the book selling vendors, they wanted to join amazon to sell books , so more sellers listed on Amazon to sell books, so customers get more options to buy , it had become a wheel , that was pushed in the same direction twice , increasing the rotation speed , and amazon used that money in improving its website, and to improve customer experience , in 1998 , bezos thought, this model to apply on music and computer games selling

So Amazon expanded the business and started selling music , books and computer games on its website, it got great success, and in 1999 , Time magazine person of the year was Jeff bezos, with time amazon adopted many small , big ideas , driving company growth forward
