Amazing! Trouble came to earth from space, full audio and video of meteorite fall recorded for the first time

Meteorite Strike On Doorbell Camera: A meteorite fell outside a house in Charlottetown, Canada. Amazing footage was captured in the doorbell camera. This is probably the first such video of its kind in the world.

Wellidam and his partner Laura Kelly had gone out of the house to walk their dogs one afternoon in July last year. He had no idea that on his return he would have to face a unique event related to the universe. There was debris scattered on the road around the house. Then when the people living in the neighborhood informed about the blast, Validam checked the security camera footage. The video recorded in the doorbell camera revealed that a meteorite had fallen outside the house. The shocking sight of a meteorite falling from space has been captured with audio for the first time.

Wellidam said, ‘We were shocked when we saw that the road was full of debris. Stones were scattered everywhere. At first we did not understand how this happened. Initially, considering it to be debris fallen from the roof, they started cleaning it. Kelly’s parents live nearby who said they heard a loud bang.

.

He said that perhaps a meteorite had fallen here! When Wellidam viewed the footage from his home’s security camera, it was confirmed that a meteorite had indeed fallen near his home

Audio-video of meteorite fall recorded for the first time

Chris Hurd, University of Alberta professor and curator of the meteorite collection, said, ‘This is the first time that the complete sound and video of a meteorite falling to Earth has been recorded simultaneously. I have heard the sound of a meteorite before, but it has never happened that you have seen it hitting the surface, breaking and at the same time hearing the sound

Where did this meteorite come from?

Hurd said that this meteorite was of ‘ordinary chondrite’ type, which is one of the most common types of meteorites that fall on the Earth. It is made up of small round particles of silicate minerals, such as olivine and pyroxene. Hurd believes that this meteorite may have come from the asteroid belt located between Mars and Jupiter.

This meteorite would have entered Earth’s atmosphere traveling at thousands of miles per hour from the cold depths of space. Some part of it might have broken due to heat in the atmosphere. The size of the meteorite was between a golf ball and a baseball.

According to NASA, about 48 tons of meteorite material falls on Earth every day. The chances of it colliding with humans are very less. Meteorites mostly fall into water, because 71% of the Earth is covered with water.

Chris Herd, a geologist and professor from the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, emphasised the importance of the discovery, calling it a momentous event. He said, “As the first and only meteorite from the province of PEI, and possibly the Maritimes, the Charlottetown Meteorite announced its arrival in a spectacular way.” He also said that no other meteorite fall has ever been documented quite like this.

What makes this meteorite truly remarkable is how it was captured on record. “As far as we know, it’s the first time that a meteorite falling to Earth has been recorded on video, with sound. It adds a whole new dimension to the natural history of the Island,” Herd said. This unprecedented documentation brings a fresh perspective to the story of PEI’s natural history
