Prussia was a powerful country in Europe. Due to its expansionist policy, it had once subjugated a large part of Europe. But Germany’s defeat in the Second World War led to the disintegration of Prussia. Its territory was divided into East Germany and West Germany. This country included the areas of present-day Poland, Russia, Lithuania, Denmark.

Czechoslovakia

After the end of the First World War, the Austro-Hungarian Empire was disintegrated. In its place, Czechoslovakia was established on 28 October 1918. It included the areas of present-day Bohemia, Moravia, Silesia and Slovakia. Tomas Garrigue Masaryk became the first president of this country. As a result of the Second World War, many such events took place in Czechoslovakia that the country continued to struggle with problems. Just a few months after the collapse of the Soviet Union, on 1 January 1993, Czechoslovakia also peacefully split into two independent countries, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Republic of Texas

Texas, which has made its mark as an important state of the United States today, was once an independent country. It had its own army, its own president and constitution. In 1836, Texas separated from Mexico and declared itself an independent country. But this increased the opposition between the two countries. Some people of Texas wanted to join America but they stepped back due to the anti-slavery movement in America. Because people in Texas considered keeping slaves an honour. But by 1845, the circumstances took such a turn that Texas became a part of America with consent. However, many people of Texas still consider themselves citizens of an independent country.

East Germany

After the end of the Second World War, Germany was divided into two main parts. East Germany was given under the influence of the Communist Soviet Union. It was mainly called the German Democratic Republic, while West Germany remained under the influence of Europe. The Berlin Wall was built to separate these two countries. This wall became an example of the Cold War. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the communist state in East Germany also collapsed. In 1989, the people of Germany demolished the Berlin Wall and Germany became a unified country. But even today, inequality is seen between these two regions.

South Vietnam

This part of Vietnam, which is known worldwide for its fight with America, was officially named Republic of Vietnam. Actually, Vietnam was divided into two parts under the Geneva Treaty. South Vietnam emerged as a non-communist country. This country existed from 1955 to 1976. In the Vietnam War, this country fought with America against North Vietnam. But after America left, in 1976, North Vietnam captured South Vietnam and made it its part. After this, both the countries together formed the Socialist Republic of Vietnam

Yugoslavia

Yugoslavia was formed in South Eastern Europe after the First World War. People of many origins lived in this country formed in 1918. Serbs, Croats and Slovenians were prominent among them. After the Second World War, Yugoslavia became a communist state. However, under the leadership of its prominent politician Tito, this country remained an important member of India’s non-alignment politics even during the Cold War. Ethnic violence started here in the 1990s. And as a result, many countries were formed. These include Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, etc
